Yes, Let’s Toast has partnered with vendors to provide pre-marital counseling upon request, although fees may apply for this service. Please email for more information.

Is there a cancellation fee after a contract is signed?

Yes, there is a cancellation fee if services are not canceled within 48 hours of the event to compensate for holding your reserved time. While deposits are non-refundable, we will strive to accommodate a rescheduling if extenuating circumstances arise.

What do I need to get married?

To get married, you need to obtain a marriage license from a courthouse in Virginia, which costs around $30. No witnesses or blood tests are required, and the license is valid for 60 days after issuance.

How many guests can attend my private ceremony?

In Virginia, there are no requirements for witnesses, so you may include guests if that is your preference.

Is a venue included in these packages?

Our micro packages include a venue, while officiant packages do not include one. However, there are options to add a venue to the officiant packages.

To book a service, complete the questionnaire provided on our website, which submits your request via email. Once we receive it, we will send back a contract and deposit request to confirm your booking.

What types of events can be hosted at Mankin Mansion?

Mankin Mansion is ideal for weddings, bridal showers, anniversaries, birthdays, corporate retreats, and various celebrations.

The mansion features a European-inspired gallery, outdoor terrace, and climate-controlled indoor options including a pavilion, decorated with crystal chandeliers and a classic aesthetic.

How many guests does Historic Whitewood accommodate?

Based on our Conditional Use Permit with Powhatan County, we can host up to 250 guests.

Is catering done on-premise or can we bring our own caterer?

We’ve preselected six outstanding caterers who are dedicated to providing excellent service, quality food, and professionalism. They are licensed, insured, and inspected by the Health Department.

Do you allow alcohol, and can I bring my own?

Yes, obtaining an ABC license from the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority is required to provide your own alcohol. It must be served by a licensed and insured caterer or bartender.

Are Tables and Chairs Provided?

Yes, we provide 250 White Resin Ceremony Chairs, 250 Fruitwood Reception Chairs, along with various sizes of tables for your event.

Do you require event liability insurance?

Yes, event liability insurance is required. You need to name Historic Whitewood as additional insured on the policy.

When may I access the venue on my wedding day?

You and your vendors will have access starting at 10 AM on your wedding day.

Can the venue accommodate buses or shuttles?

Yes, buses and shuttles are welcome. We have a dedicated gravel parking area that can accommodate transportation with the required turning radius.

Do you have handicap parking?

Yes, we have designated handicap parking spots close to the ceremony and reception sites.

Is there a food and beverage minimum?

No, that is handled through your selected caterer.

Can we bring a cake from an outside baker?

Yes, outside bakers are welcome. They must follow the same vendor guidelines as any other service.

What services do you offer?

I offer customized wedding officiant services in Virginia, including legal signing ceremonies, elopement wedding services, micro wedding services, and traditional wedding ceremony services.

My fees vary depending on the service. Legal signing ceremonies start at $85, elopement weddings at $185, micro weddings at $235, and traditional ceremonies begin at $355.

Do you offer wedding coordination services?

No, effective January 2025, I have retired from wedding coordination services to focus solely on officiating.

What is your average price per person?

Our catering costs comprise three parts: menu, equipment, and service. Usually, the menu averages $40-$60 per person for appetizers and dinner, with equipment costing $2.50-$4.00 per person. For a full-service catering, expect service costs between $1200 and $2000 for a 5-hour event, based on guest count and service type. For drop-off catering, there's a setup fee of around $400.

Do you have a staff of waiters and bartenders to serve at events?

Yes, we provide bartending and food service staff for most events we cater. However, for pick-up or drop-off events, staff is only included upon special request.

What if some of my guests have allergies?

We can accommodate a variety of dietary restrictions. We can prepare a separate plated meal or mark buffet items to specify which dishes are vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free.

How do tastings work?

After finalizing your menu, we conduct a tasting for clients who have signed a contract, which is complimentary for up to 4 guests. Additional guests, up to a maximum of 6, incur a $30 charge. For tastings requested before signing, there's a $150 fee, credited towards your final balance if a contract is signed.

What about the leftovers?

Leftovers are not guaranteed, but if there are any, we encourage clients to provide to-go containers for food. We do not supply containers for leftover food.
