We cannot recommend Historical Whitewood highly enough! As soon as we arrived at the venue, we knew it was our ideal wedding location. It exceeded our expectations in every aspect! The property is stunning with numerous options and amenities. Chad and Sarah provided exceptional support, ensuring both us and our guests had the most enjoyable experience. How many guests does Historic Whitewood accommodate?

Based on our Conditional Use Permit with Powhatan County, we can host up to 250 guests.

Is catering done on-premise or can we bring our own caterer?

We’ve preselected six outstanding caterers who are dedicated to providing excellent service, quality food, and professionalism. They are licensed, insured, and inspected by the Health Department.

Do you allow alcohol, and can I bring my own?

Yes, obtaining an ABC license from the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority is required to provide your own alcohol. It must be served by a licensed and insured caterer or bartender.

Are Tables and Chairs Provided?

Yes, we provide 250 White Resin Ceremony Chairs, 250 Fruitwood Reception Chairs, along with various sizes of tables for your event.

Do you require event liability insurance?

Yes, event liability insurance is required. You need to name Historic Whitewood as additional insured on the policy.

When may I access the venue on my wedding day?

You and your vendors will have access starting at 10 AM on your wedding day.

Can the venue accommodate buses or shuttles?

Yes, buses and shuttles are welcome. We have a dedicated gravel parking area that can accommodate transportation with the required turning radius.

Do you have handicap parking?

Yes, we have designated handicap parking spots close to the ceremony and reception sites.

Is there a food and beverage minimum?

No, that is handled through your selected caterer.

Can we bring a cake from an outside baker?

Yes, outside bakers are welcome. They must follow the same vendor guidelines as any other service.
